IELTS online test that assesses your proficiency in English; and is a requirement for admission into some foreign schools.

IELTS RegistrationThere are two versions of the IELTS, an academic version, and a general training version. The former is required for academic enrollment while the latter is for those taking non-academic training.

 

In Nigeria, there are few centers and location for this test and British Council is the primary designated center in Nigeria

The British Council centers can be found in Lagos, Abuja, Calabar, Benin, Port Harcourt, Ibadan and Enugu.

How To Register For IELTS In Nigeria

The first step is to identify the center where you wish to write the test.

 

The next step involved the filling of a form on which you need to indicate the type of test you want to register for (Academic or General training).

Make sure the time slot you want is available by confirming from the British Council website.

If you wish to make payment online, you will need a Mastercard or Visa debit/credit card for the transaction; the options of direct bank deposit or online bank transfers are also available for offline payments.

Other requirements include:

  • A current international passport as a means of identification.
  • A valid contact address. Note that P.O. Box or P.M.B. is not accepted but you can opt to pick up your result from the centre and avoid postal address altogether.
  • Name of proposed institution(s) and you can indicate if you wish to have your test score result sent to them automatically.
 Once you have registered you should work hard and prepare for the test. A 7 days notice for the Speaking test is usually communicated prior to the test.
